Yesterday, I went on a trip to Chicago for the day. I wandered the city, ate some Panera Bread (which took us forever to find) and saw the musical Hamilton at Private Bank Theatre.
And, just wow.
First of all, Hamilton was spectacular. At the time I described it as “exquisitely breathtaking.” I mean, when the music started I had tears in my eyes it was so good. Even without the original cast it was so beautifully done. If you ever have the chance to see it, see it. It’s so worth it.
Secondly, I love Chicago. I’ve only been there about three times, but it’s so beautiful. I love looking at the people. So many different people live in Chicago, much more than what I am used to in West Michigan. People of different colors, body shapes, everything. Not to mention the diverse cast of Hamilton, as well. Man, they did a great job.
And third, I love-hate the city. I love cities, I love how busy it is, everyone on the move. But, I also find it draining to be around so many people at one (yay, introverts!) and can get a little anxious around so much activity. But I still loved seeing it.
If you ever have a chance to go to Chicago, go. The Windy City is a beautiful place. To watch my travel vlog, just click here.
